Port Blair, April 19: A delegation of the Nagarpalika Shramik Sangh (CITU) led by its President B. Chandrachoodan met the Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council today (19.04.2023) and discussed various demands of the employees and workers working in the Port Blair Municipal Council.  The delegation of the Union requested the Secretary, PBMC to grant Bonus to all the daily rated workers as has been done in APWD and other departments.  The delegation further requested the Secretary, PBMC to grant 1/30th of pay plus DA to all the daily rated mazdoors in view of the judgement of the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court on 19th December, 2022 in the case Lt Governor –vs-ASNVMS (MA/9/2020). The Union delegation also demanded regularization of the services of all the daily rated mazdoors working in PBMC.  The Union told the Secretary that being an autonomous body, PBMC should take a decision on the regularization issue immediately. 

Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI has deeply mourned the sad demise of Smt. Prem Kunwar (Premi), W/o Late Narayan Kishen R/o Austinabad, who left for heavenly abode on 19.04.2023. Shri Jolly prayed to the Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul and to give strength to her bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Port Blair, April 19: In accordance with A&N Marine Fishing Rules 2004 (Amendment – 2019) the period commencing from 15th day of April to 31st day of May -2023 (inclusive of the day of commencement and day of expiry) shall be closed season for fishing vessels plying bottom trawling gear and for shark fishing in A&N Waters.

Port Blair, April 19: During the “Fire Service Week-23”, A&N Fire Service organized Badminton Tournament from 17/04/2023 to 19/04/2023 at Dairy Farm Badminton Court for personnel of all units of Andaman & Nicobar Police. The participants enthusiastically took part in the event and made it a great success. On the occasion a brief Fire Safety Awareness session was also conducted for the personnel.
